September 20, 2022 - Eye Security has been qualified by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) and added to the list of qualified Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) Response Service Providers. This list helps German companies, critical infrastructure managers and government agencies find qualified cybersecurity solution providers. “An important step in our internationalisation.”
The BSI acts as a qualification body for various aspects of business in Germany, including cybersecurity. The primary function of a BSI qualification is to ensure the security of an IT-product by providing transparency about the capabilities, reliability and usability of a solution. The ultimate goal that the BSI wants to achieve in Germany is to create trust in technology.
Two-tier qualification process
Eye Security successfully passed the BSI's bipartisan evaluation, on the one hand testing the company's processes and investigative services for professionalism and completeness. Then Eye's experts were extensively tested and evaluated in a fictitious scenario. “This qualification represents an important step for us in expanding our international strategy,” says Christian Milde, CEO Central Europe at Eye Security. “Being included in the BSI's list of qualified APT response service providers is a great confirmation of our growing business in Germany, as well as the expertise of our team in both the region and Europe. It also confirms that our approach to protecting German customers meets the highest possible quality standards.”
Recognition
Attacks on companies are increasing, both in number and in intensity. The damage caused by cybercrime not only causes economic damage, but can also damage reputation, for example. The BSI believes that the support of specialised external service providers with a high level of knowledge is necessary in order to cope with cyber threats. By qualifying these service providers, the German Federal Office wants to help companies find and select suitable partners in order to save them time-consuming research. “The recognition of Eye by BSI highlights our ability to provide German organisations with the incident response services and expertise needed to properly mitigate cyber-attacks.”
